School Information

Navigational school trains skippers of power and sailing pleasure (non-commercial) boats, captains and crew members of pleasure and sports sailing ships, skippers and IYT skippers.

Training is carried out both in full-time and in part-time form using e-learning and distance learning technologies.

Navigational school has its own fleet of 5 keel sailing yachts and motor boats.

The autonomous non-profit organization of additional professional education "Navigational school" ("Navigational School") since 2007 has been training 

  • crew members according International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW) and 
  • skippers of power and sailing pleasure (non-commercial) boats.


Objectives and activities

Goals of the Navigational School are:

  • education by programs of professional training and training of children;
  • involvement of adults, children and youth in water sports, water tourism, and various forms of water recreation;
  • development of children's, youth, as well as adult sailing, other water sports, water tourism, various forms of recreation on the water.

Navigational School carries out the following activities:

  • training and methodological development and implementation of additional professional programs, advanced training programs, professional retraining programs for specialists of the sea and river fleet in the field of navigation on sea and inland waterways, navigation, logistics, ship theory, hydrometeorology, signaling and radio communications, the use of the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS), maritime law, maritime safety, survival and first aid in disasters;
  • organizing and conducting fitness and sports events, organizing recreation and sports tourism;
  • organization and holding of competitions in sailing and other water sports - regattas, championships, cups, team meetings and other competitions;
  • providing sports, recreation, cultural and leisure services in the field of pleasure navigation, sailing and other water sports;
  • operation of tourist, sports, health and preventive facilities.
